How It Works

  • Pick your Dates and Make your reservation online or over the phone, whatever works best for you.
  • If you have already gotten your fishing license  (a link will be provided in your confirmation email),  we will head straight to the river.
  • After rigging up the rods and the boat we will hit the water. If you are new to fishing, our expert (and very patient) guides will give you all of the instruction you need. Then it's on to Catching Fish!!!
  • Our day is spent floating down the river, fishing from the boat as well as stopping on shore to work good spots. We have snacks and drinks on the boat, and on full day trips we stop for a delicious lunch.
  • At the end of the day we will load up the truck and drive you back to your hotel, where you can rest up for the next day's adventure.
  • Our company is small and therefore very flexible and more than happy to customize your trip to fit your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can three guests share the fishing portion of this trip?

Each boat holds two anglers plus a guide. For groups of three, the right setup depends on your specific party. In some cases a third person can join one boat for an additional fee, and in others two boats makes more sense. We sort this out on a case-by-case basis to make sure everyone is comfortable on the water. Give us a call and we'll walk you through the options and exact pricing for your group.

  • Will we know which stretch of the Snake we're floating?

Your afternoon takes place on the Snake River, with the specific stretch chosen by your guide based on conditions that day. Over 40 miles of guided water means there's always a section fishing well. If you have a preferred stretch in mind, let us know when booking.

  • Does rain shut down the trip?

Showers in Jackson Hole tend to pass through quickly thanks to the area's high desert climate, so a rain jacket is usually all you need. The hike and the fishing both carry on in normal weather. A full-day storm forecast may prompt rescheduling, depending on availability.

  • What clothing covers both the hike and the float?

Layering is the answer for a day that mixes alpine hiking with afternoon time on the river. A warm shell and fleece handle the cool morning meadow walk, with lighter pieces underneath for the warmer river hours. Wear sturdy hiking shoes you don't mind getting wet stepping out of the boat.

  • Are there bathroom stops during the day?

The hiking portion typically passes near trailhead facilities, and the put-in and take-out for the float usually have outhouses available. If you need to stop while floating, your guide will pull over at a private spot along the bank. Bathroom supplies is kept on the boat.

  • What does the cancellation policy look like?

Booking secures your trip with a 50% deposit, and the remaining balance is automatically charged to your card 72 hours before departure. Cancellations made earlier than 72 hours out are refundable, less a $40 per boat fee. Trips cancelled inside the 72-hour window are non-refundable.

  • How long is the trip?

The morning hike is about 4 hours door to door with roughly 2.5-3 hours on trail. The afternoon fishing is about 4.5 hours door to door with about 3.5 hours on the water.

  • Is there a break between the morning hike and the afternoon fish?

Yes, your hiking guide will bring you back to town where you’ll have about an hour to grab lunch and refresh before the afternoon fishing guide picks you up

  • Is the hiking trail difficult?

The hiking portion of the day can be paced leisurely, moderate, or aggressive depending on your desires. We have many different hikes the guide can choose from. All trips are private so we can easily match your group’s interests and abilities
