River Overview
The Green River flows through open ranch land tucked between Wyoming's mountain ranges, setting the tone for a relaxed yet focused day of fishing. Anglers spend the day floating productive stretches, casting to seams, banks, and riffles where trout naturally feed. This river suits guests who want a balance of exciting fishing and quiet space, and it fits seamlessly into a full day guided experience from Jackson Hole Anglers.

Wild Trout Species
The Green River holds Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout, with some fish reaching 25 to 30 inches. It's a small, intimate river where thoughtful presentations and focused technique consistently reward anglers of all experience levels. Whether you're new to fly fishing or have years on the water, the variety and quality of fish here keeps the day engaging and satisfying.
Open Ranch Land and Mountain Views
Floating the Green means drifting through wide open ranchland framed by Wyoming's mountain ranges, not canyon walls. The setting is spacious and unhurried, giving the day a distinctly Western feel. It's perfect for couples, families, and groups who want beautiful surroundings as much as consistent trout action.
What to Expect on Your Guided Green River Float Trip
A Green River float trip is designed to feel smooth and personal from the first pickup to the final cast. Every detail is handled so you can focus on the rhythm of the river and the next rise.

Your Guide and Water Selection
When you book, we reserve a guide exclusively for your day. Your guide will reach out the evening before your trip to confirm which water you'll be fishing based on current conditions and your needs. If you have a specific request or preference, that's the perfect time to share it.
Gear and Flies
All necessary equipment is provided, including fly rods, reels, flies, boats, and lifejackets. Full day trips also include lunch, snacks, and drinks, while half day trips include beverages and everything you need to fish comfortably. This setup works well for beginners who don’t own gear and for experienced anglers who prefer traveling light.

Drift Boat Experience
Most days are spent floating and fishing from the boat, with stops along the bank when conditions call for it. Each boat holds two anglers plus a guide, creating a private, focused environment. It’s an ideal format for learning new techniques, refining your cast, or simply enjoying uninterrupted time on productive water.
